Blackpool is a town in Lancashire, England, United Kingdom at latitude 53°47′52.80″ North, longitude 3°01′08.40″ West.
Description
Blackpool is town and unitary authority within the North West region of England. Together with the unitary authority of Blackburn with Darwen and the non-metropolitan county of Lancashire its forms the ceremonial county of Lancashire.
It is a major UK holiday destination, although it doesn't attract as many visitors as it once did. It is located on the west coast of an area called the Fylde (hence the FY post codes). The Fylde includes the towns of St Annes, Lytham, Kirkham, Cleveleys, Thornton, Fleetwood, Poulton, Great Eccleston and St Michaels.
OSM Coverage
The town has most of the main roads mapped in OpenStreetMap with the minor/residential roads being added as tracks are made available. The most detailed coverage is currently in the Great Marton area. Roads in the other Fylde towns and villages are being added as journeys are made through them.
Major current/future requirements

- The 'Foxhall Village' project along Rigby Road. Streets are to be named after the members of the 1953 FA Cup-winning Blackpool FC team.[1]. Building work ongoing.
- A 'village' on Whyndyke Farm, north-east of M55 Junction 4. Much of this area is in neighbouring Fylde.[2]. Little progress since July 2015.
- New housing estate on part of the Premium Bonds Site, junction of Mythop Road and Preston New Road.
- Estate off the A5230 Squires Gate Link Road, between the junctions with Common Edge Road and Midgeland Road. Some roads and drainage basins mapped. Bus stops on the A5230 but no scheduled bus route as yet.
- Housing scheme on the site of Bispham High School [3]
