North Yorkshire is a county in Yorkshire and the Humber at latitude 54°51′25.20″ North, longitude 2°01′40.80″ West.
The ceremonial county of North Yorkshire is made up of the non-metropolitan county of North Yorkshire and the unitary authority of York in the Yorkshire and the Humber region of England and the unitary authorities of Middlesborough and Redcar and Cleveland and Stockton-on-Tees (south of the river) in the North East region of England.
It borders the ceremonial counties of East Riding of Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cumbria and County Durham.
