Cannonball Stageline
When we get to the point where we start adding and justifying classifications, we should probably include this note about the Cannonball Stageline by Cunningham given its controversies in the past: "This has been flipped back and forth a few times. Discussion was had on #local_kansas Slack and it was concluded that this should be motorway despite only one interchange due to the length and separation of roads through bridges or closed intersections." The note is also on the highway itself, but including it here would help make it visible and prevent further edit wars.

Trimming Down Trunks
Now that we have a list of significant population centers, I would like to take a look at trimming down the amount of trunk roads in Kansas. Here is a preliminary list of ones I believe could be downgraded to primary and why.

| US 281/US 24 | Between Smith Center and US 77 | Neither is a significant destination and significant destinations are already better served by other trunks |
| US 77 | Between US 24 and I-35 (OK) | No significant destinations, motorway is often very close and better route |
| KS 15 | Between US 54/400 and US 77 | Would be removed along with US 77 |
| US 166 | Between I 35 and US 400 | No significant destinations or road improvements |
| US 56 | Between US 59 and I 35 | No significant destinations or road improvements |

- I've looked through your list, and so far I agree with it. I've made changes to the Trunk list to reflect these suggestions. I'm also going to start adding the state highways to the list. --Morris4573 (talk) 21:54, 17 March 2023 (UTC)
