Sometimes I make use of data from sources which are not easily documented using the source tag. I will make a note of these sources on this page.

Ordnance Survey Town Plans

I obtained copies of 1:500 OS mapping from 1885 from Norwich library. I use this for building outlines for the few buildings that have remained the same since then, mostly churches and the Cathedral Close.

Norwich Cathedral

It is difficult to obtain a satisfactory outline of the Cathedral from Bing imagery, so I have used a floor plan which appeared in James Fergusson's Handbook of Architecture, published in 1855. The author died in 1886 which means the copyright in the book expired in 1956. I traced a georectified scan of the plan from the book.
